 2007 NPC USA Wheelchair
Overall Champion!
Bodybuilding Biography
After three months of serious rehab and counseling at
Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, I was able
to go home to begin living my new life. After the first year
home, I began to become acclimated to life in a wheelchair
and was able to gain my independence. Once my physical
injuries began to heal I joined the local gym to gain the
strength and muscle I lost due to the accident. One of the
trainers there, who was a competitive bodybuilder took
interest in me and started working with me each week.
After several months I was starting to get some strength
back and began to see some muscle growth. I was
beginning to make progress.
One day, he brought in a muscle magazine with pictures
of wheelchair bodybuilders who were big and ripped. I
wanted to be them. I wanted to compete. I told my trainer
and he was on board. We immediately took an interest in
the growing sport of wheelchair bodybuilding. He started
me on a high protein nutritional program consisting of 6
meals a day with a calculated caloric intake along with
an intense training schedule of four days a week, working
one body part per day, which I still use today. I was serious
about bodybuilding; I just never knew how far I would take it.
After a few months of intense training and a strict diet regimen, I began to see results. I was gaining weight
and my muscles began to take shape, I definitely looked a lot better. I was feeling better than ever also and
in turn that made my life so much better. I started competing in 2001 and after my first show I was hooked
and the rest is history. Bodybuilding definitely helped get me through the toughest years of my life both physically and emotionally. Each year gets better and better.
